Amy: The teddy who wear blue bears a name which was very normal for the time, as bananas in pyjamas premiered in 1992 and Amy was at number 8 for both the 80’s and the 90’s. Many more little Amy’s watched the original series then the new animated series (which is the worst thing ever in my opinion) as it is now at 104 in NSW and 74 in Australia.
Lulu: The darker teddy and her name was quite unusual for the 90’s even though it has never ranked in NSW now it is quite trendy. Lulu could be a nickname for Lucy (46 in 1990’s and 25 in 2011) or Lucinda (175 for the 90’s and 158 now) both are bigger now.
Morgan: The male teddy even though Morgan was more popular for girls in the 90’s and more popular for boys in the 80’s but only children born in the late 80’s would have watched bananas in pyjamas so there were probably more little girls named Morgan watching as in the 90’s it was 150 for girls and 184 for boys and in the 80’s it was 288 for girls and 175 for boys. Now it is at 400 for girls and 388 for boys so there are now more boys named Morgan.
Maggie the Magpie: A smaller character and in the 80’s and 90’s it seemed like a very nana name. Now it is at 208 in the 90’s it was at 338 and in the 80’s it was at 510 and Margaret was at 272 in the 90’s and 190 in the 80’s and now at 428. So there were a similar amount of Maggie’s.
B1 and B2: The main Characters could work as a nickname for a child.
Rat-In-The-Hat: Leave this for rats, rats in hats.
