My little sisters name. The French form of Adela meaning noble or shining bright depending on where you look =). It peaked in the 1960’s at 233 and was down to 744 by the time my sister was born in the 2000’s now coming back up the charts at 475.

Not sure where you looked, but it definitely means “noble”, as in, “of aristocratic birth”.
My best friend in high school was named Adele; I think it’s such a pretty name, and so glad the singer is bringing it back.
It was in a baby name book I read at seven I still remember (somehow)
